1999 Chevrolet Suburban from “The Sopranos” Seasons 1-4 to Cross the Auction Block at Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas September 28

LAS VEGAS (September 24, 2013) — Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions™, is known for non-stop action and a variety of one-of-a-kind automobiles to cross the auction block, and this year’s Las Vegas event is no exception, as the legendary auction company is excited to announce Lot #689 1999 Chevrolet Suburban from “The Sopranos” Seasons 1-4. The Suburban was utilized in seasons 1-4 of the renowned series and will cross the block at No Reserve on Saturday, September 28th. The upcoming 6th Annual Las Vegas auction takes place September 26-28 at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

The Suburban is the actual vehicle driven by the show’s famous protagonist, Tony Soprano, portrayed by James Gandolfini. The late actor, who passed away in early 2013, autographed the car’s sun visor on the driver’s side with a personalized message “Take Care of My Car”. Fans of “The Sopranos” will also remember it as the automobile Tony drives in the opening credits. The character has the Suburban until he acquires an Escalade after being promoted to the “boss”.

“What makes this truck so unique is that people recognize it as its own character in the drama series,” said Craig Jackson, CEO and Chairman of Barrett-Jackson. “It’s hard to picture Tony Soprano, one of the most notable television characters in history, not riding through his neighborhood in this maroon Suburban, which is extremely rare and fascinating in the age of modern television.”

The potential owner of Lot #689 1999 Chevrolet Suburban from “The Sopranos” Seasons 1-4 will not only leave the auction with the famed Suburban, but with several screen-used props and production items included with the vehicle. “The Sopranos”, regarded by many as the greatest television series of all time, aired from 1999 through 2007.

“The 1999 Chevrolet Suburban is not only a standout vehicle in this year’s diverse docket, but is also considered to be an American pop culture monument,” said Steve Davis, President of Barrett-Jackson. “We foresee that this unique offering is sure to bring excitement to bidders and car enthusiasts on every level.”
