Public Art panel OKs project
The Scottsdale Public Art advisory board approved a new art project for the WestWorld expansion. The budget is $300,000.
What type of artwork and where it will be inside WestWorld’s Tony Nelssen Equestrian Center has not been decided.
A city ordinance requires that 1 percent of a capital improvement project’s budget be set aside for public art.
The $30 million project involves making the equidome an indoor facility for year-round events and expanding WestWorld from 100,000 square feet to 250,000 square feet. WestWorld is home to the annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction and the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Ah, that new car smell. It might smell even better when it’s coming from a limited edition Corvette or brand new Bentley in West Palm Beach.
Enthusiasts can get a whiff of one of hundreds of hot rods, limited edition and collectors cars at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction at the South Florida Fairgrounds beginning Thursday morning.
More than 400 cars will be involved in the car show and auction. To see the cars up for auction, click here. This is the ninth year for the event in West Palm Beach and 40th year overall. The show kicks off at 8 a.m. and runs through Saturday. Tickets are $13 for adults and $5 for children.
