To get the stance right, front and rear Deaver leaf springs were added with the addition of Fox shocks. The K5 sits on 17-inch Black Rhino Primm beadlocks paired with BFG KO2 tires.

The Blazer is powered by a 500hp factory 6.2-liter GM LS3 engine equipped with CVF front drive, mated to a Hughes 4L80E transmission and NP205 transfer case. To keep a vintage look in the engine bay, a classic 16-inch filter was added to the Holley intake along with SBC valve covers with hidden coil packs. To improve the power and output, a custom 3-inch fully TIG-welded, fully polished exhaust with MagnaFlow mufflers was fabricated. In the rear there is a polished 24-gallon Boyd fuel cell with a custom fuel cradle.

The custom interior features Triple Twine Tan throughout with custom bucket seats utilizing the Hogan Built front seat brackets, allowing the front seats to function like factory. A beautiful German square-weave carpet along with custom door panels were installed to provide a sense of elegance inside. There is a custom leather-wrapped steering wheel attached to a CPP color-matched steering column. Look just past the steering wheel to see Classic Instrument gauges that have been painted to match the build. A Vintage Air system has been added to keep things cool no matter what the weather, and there is also a RetroSound stereo and American Auto wire harness. This Blazer features a fully custom stereo featuring four 6.5-inch component speakers and a built-in 10-inch subwoofer. Dynamat is installed throughout to keep road noise out and the music in. This build had a true nut-and-bolt, body-off concours restoration using only the best parts while maintaining the classic K5 style for which Hogan Built is known.

Known as “Cashmere,” this custom Resto-Mod 1957 Lincoln Continental Mark II is powered by a Ford 5.0-liter Coyote engine equipped with an Edelbrock Victor II EFI manifold. The engine is mated to a Performance Automatic 4R70W Street Smart 4-speed automatic transmission with a Simple Shift transmission control system operated using a Mastershift push-button head unit.

The build started with a California car and was designed and modified by the acclaimed Havasu Speed. The original frame rails were boxed and melded with a newly designed front clip from Jim Meyer Enterprises. The full front and rear independent suspension were designed by Kugel Komponents to support the weight of a larger car (approximately 4,900 pounds). The power braking system has Wilwood 6-piston calipers clamping on 13-inch drilled and slotted rotors. The undercarriage is completely powder-coated in two-tone colors and sports a center section belly pan for a completely clean look. The 19-inch wheels were cut by Colorado Custom with 19×9 fronts and 19×9.5 rears. This custom Continental’s smooth ride is courtesy of a RideTech air-ride suspension system controlled by AccuAir management.

Subtle body modifications include the roof chopped by 1.75 inches, front headlight fenders shortened by .375 inches, rear decklid spare tire hump shortened by 2.75 inches and sectioned by 2 inches, custom door handles designed to follow the side body line, and the front bumper completely redesigned, shortened and tucked into the car’s body. The Dark Cashmere paint (a Bentley color) was provided by Sickens. Premier Street Rod of Lake Havasu, AZ, did the body prep and paint.

Audio was provided and installed by KICKER. The all-leather interior was designed by Ron Mangus Interiors with the dashboard designed by the owner. Gauges were done by Classic Instruments with custom logos approved by Ford. Other features include power rack & pinion steering, air conditioning and power windows. Accolades include the inaugural Sam Foose Memorial Design Award presented by Chip Foose at the 2020 LA Roadster Show, Al Slonaker Achievement Award and Al Slonaker Outstanding Interior at the 2020 LA Roadster Show, Goodguys Del Mar First Place Custom Rod, Goodguys Scottsdale Top 10 Award and Goodguys Custom of the Year Top 12.

1960 CHEVROLET CORVETTE 283/270 CONVERTIBLE – NO RESERVE

Transport yourself to the alluring glamour and timeless elegance of the early 1960s through the exquisite lens of this 1960 Chevrolet Corvette 283/270 convertible, resplendent in the captivating shade of Horizon Blue. A mere snapshot of a remarkable year: in 1960, a total of 10,261 Corvettes graced the roads. Among them, only 766 donned the mesmerizing Horizon Blue coat. This specific vehicle, born on May 6, 1960, in St. Louis, Missouri, captures the essence of a bygone era in automotive history.

Beneath the hood lies the heart of this Corvette ‒ a matching-numbers 283ci V8 engine kicking out 270 horsepower. This powerhouse underwent a thorough rebuild. Its performance is enhanced by the inclusion of two Carter WCFB 4-barrel carburetors, ensuring an optimal fuel-air mixture. The engine exhales through a high-performance exhaust system with a front crossover, and, to maintain a polished appearance, the rear tailpipes were discreetly extended through the rear split bumpers. This robust engine is seamlessly connected to a T10 4-speed transmission and a posi-traction rear axle, featuring 3.70 gears for an exhilarating drive.

From every vantage point, this Corvette exudes an aura of class, a living testament to its enduring design and the enchanting fusion of Horizon Blue with Ermine White coves. Adorning its silhouette is a pristine, brand-new white soft-top, proudly marked with the indelible stamp of April 1960. Every facet of its exterior has undergone a painstaking restoration or renewal, ensuring an appearance fit for the grandest of stages.

The front grille and front split bumpers harken back to the era, while a tasteful license plate frame and flawlessly crafted door handles add to its magnetic appeal. The cove trim and antenna serve as tributes to the pursuit of authenticity. Even the rear, with its meticulously restored taillight bezels, lenses and rear split bumpers, tells a story of care and attention. Everywhere you look, emblems are precisely positioned, underscoring the commitment to perfection. The pièce de résistance, however, lies in the quadruple T3 headlights, casting a timeless and luminous glow upon the road ahead.

Resting gracefully on its four corners are 15-inch blue-painted steel wheels adorned with classic spinner hubcaps. These wheels not only provide a harmonious complement to the car’s aesthetics but also ensure a perfectly balanced stance. They are elegantly wrapped in American Classic 6.70-R15 whitewall tires, marrying style with function. As a testament to the commitment to authenticity and attention to detail, an additional set of 15-inch blue-painted steel wheels stand at the ready. These come equipped with BFGoodrich Silvertown 6.70-15 4-ply whitewall tires, intended for those moments when every aspect of perfection is under scrutiny, ensuring that this Corvette leaves an indelible mark in any judging scenario.

A restoration has resurrected the interior in its original, factory-correct shade of Frost Blue, a choice that seamlessly harmonizes with the captivating exterior. This Frost Blue canvas is nothing short of stunning, creating a captivating visual synergy with the car’s matching exterior. The dash, padded and painted in this soothing blue hue, is home to the factory-fitted black gauges. The focal point, a three-spoke steering wheel, frames an expansive 160-mph speedometer and tachometer, invoking a sense of power and control. Within the cabin, two bucket seats await, offering comfort and support for any journey.

This original matching-numbers iconic American classic sports car from the MS CLASSIC CARS Collection is set to cross the block at the 2024 Scottsdale Auction, taking place from January 20-28 at WestWorld. With its breathtaking Horizon Blue exterior, this restored Corvette is a living embodiment of an era marked by unmatched style. Register to bid today for your chance to put this head-turning Corvette in your garage.

This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Split-Window Coupe is the recipient of a no-expense-spared professional body-off restoration to factory specifications by renowned D&M Corvette Specialists in Downers Grove, IL. This Z06 retains its original matching-numbers engine and 4-speed transmission. The Z06 package included the RPO L84 fuel-injected 327/360hp engine, 4-speed manual transmission, posi-traction rear end, heavy-duty shock absorbers and springs, a dual-circuit brake master cylinder with a vacuum power booster and heavy-duty front stabilizer bar.

The Z06 performance package was first offered to the public in 1963, also known as the RPO Z06 package. Only 199 total units were ever produced. The exterior is finished in its original color of Sebring Silver over a black interior. It is documented with its original Bill of Sale, Window Sticker, dealer order form and early service records. Sold new in May 1963 from University Chevrolet in Gainesville, FL, it has garnered an NCRS Top Flight award and was Bloomington Gold certified in 2010. The NCRS Shipping Data Report and photos of the complete restoration are included with the purchase.

This 1970 Plymouth HEMI Superbird is one of 135 produced in 1970 with a 426ci 8-cylinder engine. The original matching-numbers engine is hooked to an upgraded 18-spline A833 HEMI 4-speed manual transmission and the rear end was upgraded with the stout 3.54 Dana. This car’s solid provenance is validated with its original decoded Fender Tag, matching-numbers engine, most of the Build Sheet and all body stampings.

This ‘Bird retains much of its original interior, including the original seats, door panels, instrument cluster, dash pad and headliner. In addition to the original engine, it has the original carburetors and distributor. It was repainted and retains the original vinyl roof. It also comes with both original jacks. The sheet metal is original and rust-free, and even the reproduction resonators show the Chrysler Pentastar. It rides on Goodyear Polyglas tires over Rallye wheels.

Known as “Sinister 56,” this custom 1956 Chevrolet 3100 pickup was professionally built for SEMA 2018 by well-known Premier Street Rod in Lake Havasu, AZ. Power comes from a twin-turbo LS 427ci Redline Performance-built engine producing over 1,200rwhp with engine management allowing four different settings from mild to wild. The engine is mated to a Bowler-built TREMEC T56 6-speed manual transmission.

To handle the horsepower, its foundation is a GSI Machine and Fabrication chassis equipped with RideTech air suspension and AccuAir management system, allowing it to lay the rockers on the ground. The exterior is finished in custom PPG Slate Gray with all chrome and brightwork replaced with a custom brushed-nickel finish, adding to the sinister appearance. “Sinister ’56” rides on Michelin Pilot Sport tires mounted on custom one-off 20-inch wheels built by Billet Specialties with custom brushed-nickel hoops to match the exterior trim.

The custom interior done by Ron Mangus Hotrod Interiors features a Vintage Air system, Dakota Digital instrumentation and a professionally tuned Mosconi stereo system with Focal speakers. The custom black walnut bed wood with a raised bed floor has an automated bed lift and a built-in beer cooler. The list of accolades is long, most notably the coveted SEMA Chevrolet Design Award “Truck of The Year,” Classic Truck Magazine cover, centerfold and many other articles. This custom build has 600 miles on it since its completion.

Written by Nicole Ellan James

In the world of rock ‘n’ roll and fast cars, few personalities stand out as prominently as Sammy Hagar, a Rock & Roll Hall of Famer known for breaking into the music industry with the hard-rock band Montrose, followed by his multiplatinum solo career and as a lead vocalist of Van Halen. Offstage, Hagar’s passion for adrenaline-pumping speed finds an outlet through a fervor for high-performance sports cars. He is, without a doubt, a true enthusiast.

As Hagar captivates audiences with his magnetic presence and powerful vocals, his admiration for fast cars and the high-octane thrill of driving them is equally entertaining, as it has led to classic hits like his “I Can’t Drive 55,” which is on VH1’s 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs list. In the music video, Hagar is shown confidently seated behind the wheel of a sleek 1982 Ferrari 512 Berlinetta Boxer. At the time of writing, this automotive treasure still resides in Hagar’s collection.

Hagar has now decided to sell another star of that collection: a 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari – a masterpiece of engineering and design that represents a pinnacle of automotive technology and performance.

Also known simply as “LaFerrari,” the Ferrari LaFerrari was introduced in 2013 as the Italian automaker’s flagship model. It was an instant sensation, blending breathtaking aesthetics with cutting-edge technology and jaw-dropping performance. With its hybrid powertrain and Formula 1-inspired features, the LaFerrari quickly earned its place among the most sought-after supercars in the world.

Notably, Ferrari produced only 499 LaFerraris, with 200 of these distinguished models designated as the Aperta, which features a removable roof. (An additional coupe was later built by Ferrari for a charitable sale after a devasting earthquake in Italy.) Each LaFerrari is a highly coveted collectible; however, this Ferrari comes with the prestige of being owned and designed by a rock legend. Hagar’s LaFerrari will be offered during the 2024 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, January 20-28 at WestWorld as part of the Salon Supercar Collection.

According to Hagar, there isn’t a standard base LaFerrari: “If you are fortunate enough to get one of these cars from Ferrari,” he said, “you have to go over there (to the factory in Italy) and design your car.”

With the help of Ferrari’s design team, it took Hagar two days to create his LaFerrari. “The first one I did was a yellow car,” Hagar said, adding that it had lots of stripes with black and red accents throughout. The aesthetic wasn’t quite right, so Hagar began looking at the walls of the Ferrari factory and studying the cars in photographs. According to Hagar, a cream-colored Ferrari from the 1960s caught his eye. It was the only vehicle like it on the wall and the Ferrari team was able to match the color. “I fell in love with it and said, ‘No other colors,’” he recalled.

The elegant cream color highlights the car’s sleek lines, sculpted body and aggressive stance, which is further enhanced by the carbon fiber and black accents that contribute to its visual appeal, capturing the essence of Italian automotive artistry. Perhaps it was subliminal, but it also matches the interior of his jet, which he flew to Italy in for his visit to the factory..

Like Hagar’s fiery “Red Rocker” personality, this LaFerrari packs a serious punch. “Everyone asks why I am selling it,” Hagar said, providing a frank and humble explanation: “It’s so fast and so powerful, it’s beyond my skills and abilities.” He has only driven the car 1,100 miles since receiving it from the factory.

Beneath the sleek and sculpted exterior of the LaFerrari lies a fusion of cutting-edge technology and automotive ingenuity. Its beating heart is a hybrid powertrain that marries a formidable naturally aspirated 6.3-liter V12 engine with a robust electric motor, and the synergy between these power sources is nothing short of extraordinary. This dynamic duo collaborates to unleash a staggering 949 horsepower, making the LaFerrari an incredibly powerful machine that resides at the very summit of high-performance engineering.

When the accelerator is engaged, all that power rockets the LaFerrari from a standstill to 60 miles per hour in a breathtaking under-3-second sprint. But the thrill doesn’t stop there: This extraordinary supercar continues its unrelenting charge to reach a top speed of 217 miles per hour. In the world of performance cars, the LaFerrari’s impressive speed credentials keep it in the front of the pack.

The secret to the LaFerrari’s remarkable acceleration lies in its Formula 1-inspired KERS, or Kinetic Energy Recovery System. This system instantly harnesses and converts kinetic energy generated during braking into a surge of torque, enabling lightning-fast acceleration. It’s this feature that cements the LaFerrari’s status as a track monster, capable of delivering unparalleled performance both on the road and the racetrack. With each push of the pedal, drivers experience not just speed but an electrifying connection to automotive technology at its finest. The LaFerrari is a true testament to Ferrari’s relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation, where raw power and precision engineering harmonize to create an extraordinary driving experience.

Beyond the adrenaline-fueled experiences on the road and the track, the LaFerrari also had a significant impact on the automotive industry. It served as a technological showcase for Ferrari, demonstrating their expertise in hybrid powertrains and the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the world of high-performance cars.

Inside the elegant cabin, the exclusivity of the LaFerrari is evident. It has a perfect blend of luxury and functionality, featuring handcrafted leather upholstery, high-tech displays and carbon-fiber accents. Hagar, known for his appreciation of the finer things in life, has undoubtedly enjoyed the comfort and elegance that surrounded him every time he stepped into the cockpit of this supercar.

As the years passed, Hagar’s LaFerrari has become not just a car but a cherished piece of his automotive collection, a testament to his love for speed. Its iconic status and exclusivity ensure that it will be a jewel in the crown of the next owner’s car collection, representing the pinnacle of automotive excellence.

“Every now and then, Ferrari gets everything right ‒ and with this car they really did get everything right,” Hagar said of his LaFerrari.

Sammy Hagar’s 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari is much more than a supercar; it is a representation of his larger-than-life persona, his appreciation for fine craftsmanship and his unyielding desire for speed and adventure. With its timeless design, breathtaking performance and the thrill it brought to its famous owner, this LaFerrari will forever remain a symbol of the magical fusion between the worlds of rock music and high-performance automobiles.

This custom 1968 Chevrolet Camaro is powered by a fuel-injected GM Ram Jet 502ci V8 engine paired with a TREMEC 5-speed manual transmission. Starting with a bare shell, it was completely rebuilt from the ground up and features a custom tube chassis, fabricated hood, RideTech suspension, 4-bolt mains, aluminum heads, forged rotating assembly, electronic ignition and a full roller valvetrain. The massive, big-block fan with custom aluminum intake, fabricated intake ducting and an aluminum radiator keeps the towering engine cool and provides 565 ft/lbs of torque.

It features a full perimeter frame comprised of custom rectangular tubing that vastly reinforces the tub. The front suspension is a custom set of A-arms with rack & pinion steering, along with sway bars and air suspension. There’s a torque arm and trailing links on a custom-fabricated Ford 9-inch rear end and Baer vented and cross-drilled rotors at each corner. The custom 3-inch exhaust system tucks up underneath the car with custom oval-shaped outlets.

The black exterior features hockey-stick ghost stripes on the nose and has a factory ducktail spoiler and a Z/28-style front chin spoiler, as well as RS headlights with a billet grille and electric actuators. The interior features leather-wrapped bucket seats and the rear bench seat was upholstered to match. The instrument panel is factory-issue but features Dakota Digital instruments, a fabricated center console that holds the controls for the Vintage Air system, a touchscreen entertainment/navigation system, and the trick RideTech air suspension system.

Real carbon fiber is used in the center stack and on the console, and the interior includes a tilt steering column with a custom billet wheel, power windows, custom pedals and a big custom knob on top of the TREMEC 5-speed manual gearbox. The door panels were subtly resculpted to give it a slightly custom look that’s really cohesive.

The trunk is fully finished with an enclosure for the entertainment system and amplifiers. Dual Optima batteries provide the power, with a cutoff switch neatly hidden behind the license plate. The car rides on custom Rushforth wheels, 19x10s in the front and 20×12 in the rear. With only 700 miles on the build, this Pro-Touring Camaro was custom-built for NHL All-Star Rick Nash by Boot Hill Customs in Canada. The sale includes receipts totaling over $330,000 and build photos.

Created under license by Shelby Licensing, this 1967 Shelby GT500CR is one of 25 all-carbon fiber GT500CRs built in 2022. More than 600 pounds lighter than the original 1967 Shelby GT500, this re-creation was completed on January 19, 2022. It is powered by a third-generation Ford Performance 5.0-liter Magnuson VMP supercharged Coyote V8 engine paired with a TREMEC 5-speed manual transmission. Casting a sinister presence with its raw carbon-fiber exterior, this unforgettable car features Dark Shadow racing stripes, and the body is fully wrapped in paint protection film.

Featuring vertical stitching, the black leather Carroll Shelby Heritage interior includes Carroll Shelby’s distinctive signature on the dash, and it is also embroidered into the seatbacks. This car also features a wood-trimmed three-spoke steering wheel, white shift knob and Shelby-branded white-faced Classic Instruments gauges. Other options include a Wilwood high-performance hydro-boost braking system, coilover suspension, air conditioning, an Alpine digital AM/FM CD stereo system driven by a trunk-mounted Focal amplifier, a custom-built Rick’s fuel tank, a rear-mounted Optima battery, and aluminum-accented clutch, brake and accelerator pedals. A front fascia/spoiler, twin close-coupled large-diameter driving lamps, a 1967 Shelby-style scooped hood, dual side-exit exhaust and handsome 10-spoke Shelby alloy wheels round out the visuals for this awesome, limited-production reinterpretation of Carroll Shelby’s Mustang-based GT500.

The sale includes a Classic Recreations Certificate of Authenticity with all build specifications. For about two decades, Classic Recreations has been building high-performance American muscle cars in keeping with Shelby’s rich legacy. In a 70,000-square-foot facility in Flower Mound, TX, the company’s signature products are built-to-order, officially licensed Shelby Mustangs that are the products of some 2,500 hours with exacting precision and attention to detail.

LAS VEGAS 2023 – 1920s STANDARD GOLD CROWN FRY MODEL #177 VISIBLE GAS PUMP – SOLD! $368,000

Sometimes, bigger really is better. Barrett-Jackson’s Automobilia Auctions, held every morning before the Collector Car Auctions, feature an array of shapes and dimensions when it comes to cherished automobilia (automotive memorabilia) that shines a light on our motoring heritage. It is common for the auction to draw in substantial automobilia items, both in terms of physical dimensions and historical significance.

Large automobilia items are collectibles and artifacts that often harken back to the golden age of automobiles and transport enthusiasts to a bygone era. These substantial pieces of automotive history offer more than just a glimpse into the past; they can be stunning and functional additions to any collector’s space.

SCOTTSDALE 2022 – 1953 FORD JUBILEE NEON PORCELAIN SIGN – SOLD! $460,000

A prime illustration of sizeable automobilia items includes vintage gas pumps. These colossal structures, frequently soaring to several feet in stature, once stood as fixtures along the roads of America, providing fuel to travelers on their extensive voyages. In the contemporary era, they have metamorphosed into iconic symbols renowned for their vibrant, retro aesthetics and genuine branding. Notably, during the 2023 Las Vegas Auction, a towering 1920s Standard Gold Crown Fry Model #117 visible gas pump, nearly 10 feet in height, etched its name into auction history by commanding a record-breaking price of $368,000.

Another segment within the realm of sizeable automobilia items encompasses neon signs. These colossal, electrified beacons graced the facades of gas stations, garages and diners, offering guidance to travelers and advertising a spectrum of products and services. The vivid hues and intricate patterns of these signs render them objects of great desire for collectors who appreciate original neon craftsmanship. In a noteworthy instance from the 2022 Scottsdale Auction, a beautifully restored 1953 Ford Jubilee single-sided neon porcelain dealership sign sold for $460,000. This captivating sign was a towering masterpiece, standing over 12 feet in height and spanning over 5 feet in width, showcasing the immense appeal and value of such automotive memorabilia.

Large-scale dealership and service station signs also hold a special place in the hearts of automobilia enthusiasts. These substantial pieces encapsulate the very essence of classic automobiles, from their intricate craftsmanship to their advertising allure. Whether they are showcased within collections or stand as independent statement pieces, these signs have a unique ability to conjure the rich spirit of automotive history.

One striking example from the 2022 Scottsdale Auction is a 1940s Flying A service station marquee sign. The massive sign, which measures 24-feet wide and is 7-feet tall, features animated neon wings meant to simulate flight. It sold for $146,050.

SCOTTSDALE 2022 – 1940s FLYING A SERVICE NEON SIGN – SOLD! $146,050

Among the array of colossal and remarkable large automobilia items, one for the record books was a full-size transportation-themed carousel crafted by Wilhelm Hennecke of Germany in 1957. The carousel, measuring 32 feet in diameter and standing at height of 16 feet, was sold during the 2018 Scottsdale Auction for $557,750. It holds a place of distinction as one of only five such creations imported to the United States and Canada during the 1950s, and it is widely regarded as the finest surviving specimen of its kind.

Whether it’s a restored vintage car dealership sign, a towering gas pump or a radiant neon sign, large automobilia items have an undeniable presence. They transport admirers to an era of open roads, drive-in theaters and the excitement of the automotive revolution. Collectors treasure these pieces not only for their historical significance but also for their aesthetic appeal, as they can turn any space into a homage to the automobile’s storied past.
